Lost & Found: a festival of pop-up performance which took place in unexpected locations throughout Manchester City Centre.
“Magic moments are what life is all about and what Lost & Found is engineering” – Metro.
Offering a platform for early-career artists working across multiple genres, Lost & Found supported work from theatre makers, musicians, writers, digital artists, live artists and new circus performance. Performance took place on trams, in shopping centres, in the street, online and on billboards.
Lost & Found took place in 2012 and 2011. It was co-founded with Jenny Gaskell, Rachel Moorhouse, Phil Brankin and Alex Browning, during our year in placement at with RE:CON – Contact’s premiere Young Programmer and Producer scheme (2010-2011). Lost & Found 2012 was supported by Arts Council England, Contact, 02 Think Bigger, Metrolink and Manchester City Council.
Look out for opportunities to take part in: RE:CON. See below for a short video of former Contact Artistic Director Baba Israel describing the creation of the festival and the impact of trusting young people to be art leaders.
